Cover-Up Tattoo Design or Tattoo Removal

Alison and her best-friend Rebecca both sixteen decided they wanted tattoos and decided to give each other homemade tattoos. Rebecca wanted a heart on her ankle. Alison wanted the word tragedy on her upper left arm, and as it turns out it truly was a tragedy as Alison ended up with tragdy permanently etched on her upper arm because neither of them knew how to spell it.

Lets face the facts of tattoo reality, some tattoo designs are ugly, cliché, and down right regrettable. Attempting to wear clothes to cover such tattoos is an option. Tattoo removal such as Wrecking Balm or expensive laser tattoo removal are other options or there is the option of getting another tattoo or cover tattoo over the existing one.

A cover-up tattoo design is another permanent tattoo typically larger than the original tattoo done on top of the current and unwanted tattoo to literally covers it up so that it looks as though it was never there in the first place.

Celebrities have also been known to get tattoo cover-up designs over tattoos from time to time. Nick Carter, a former BackStreet Boy, dated socialite Paris Hilton back in 2004 and got her name tattooed on his wrist. Only weeks after he permanently tattooed her name on his wrist she dumped him! Instead of sporting her name eternally, Carter had it covered with a skull-and-crossbones design.

So if you are like many who suffer from tattoo regret, you may want to consider some of the options available to you including, laser tattoo removal, in-home tattoo removal methods, or tattoo cover-ups.  Keep in mind, laser tattoo removal can cost thousands of dollars, take several months often years to undergo, and still may not completely remove all of the unwanted tattoos.

In-home tattoo removal methods, like WreckingBalm Tattoo Fade System can be performed, at a fraction of the price laser costs, and in much less time.

On the other hand cover-up tattoos cost less, take hours at the most, and most often can conceal the old tattoo so that it is undetectable.  Combining both a tattoo removal method along with a cover-up might be the most effective and quickest way to get the tattoo you've always been wanting over the one you've always hated.

There are some things to keep in mind when getting a cover-up tattoo:

•  Dark colored ink must be covered with dark colored ink.

•  If the existing tattoo has scaring or is raised up from the skin, a tattoo artist may not be able to cover it.

•  Cover tattoos can usually only be done once, so choose wisely!

•  Shop around for a talented reputable tattoo artist. Ask to see portfolios. Enquire about their experience specifically with cover tattoos as some tattoo artists specialize in covers and/or custom work.

In the end Alison and Rebecca learned their lesson about tattoos. While Rebecca was happy with her ankle heart, she felt almost as bad as her best friend for her spelling error. Alison did her homework and found a tattoo artist, and on her 18 th Birthday got a black tribal band cover-up tattoo around her upper arm to conceal her regretted "tragdy" tattoo.
