Celebrity Tattoos - Where They Wear Ink?

Americans are especially infatuated and intrigued by celebrity fashion - how they dress, what they use, and even where on their bodies they get tattoos.  Here is a look at some of our favorite celebrity icons and where on their body they wear their tattoo ink.

Lower Back Tattoos are ironically at the top of the list for woman getting their first tattoo.  Considered sexy, sensual, and most versatile, lower back tattoos can be exposed on the beach, yet covered in the office; shared with a love partner and hidden from the rest of the world. Wrist Tattoos are another popular area chosen among the starlets. A wrist tattoo can be easily hidden under a watch or decorative bracelet if need be. Lindsay Lohan has the word “breathe” written on her wrist.

Foot Tattoos tend to gain a lot of foot traffic in popularity among vacationers.  The popular “Pedi-Souvenir” is not so popular when it comes to a permanent reminder, as tattoo on the feet fade quickly and require frequent touch ups.  Carrie Otis and Charlize Theron are known for their tattoo tootsies.

Ankle Tattoos tend to be popular among the beautiful super models.  Delicate and bold designs make their way across Christy Turlington and Stephanie Seymour.

Upper Arm Tattoos, specifically female Armband Tattoos have made their way around again.  The Tribal Band designs in particular have paid for an onslaught of Harley’s parked in front of many tattoo shops.  Pamela Anderson helped to trigger the “band wagon” with her sexy barbwire tat.

Neck Tattoos, once considered a taboo area for most tattoo artists, is now an area being put out on the line. Tattooing boundaries have opened with the recent explosion of tattoo enthusiasts regarding what is considered acceptable body art and tattoos.

In the past, a full tattoo body suit left necks hands and feet untouched so that an individual could "cover-up" their tattoos with a suit or long dress and pass incognito among a crowd at situational social functions.
