Why Tattoos Fade with Time

According to the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, in 2001, 44,760 tattoo removal procedures were reportedly performed in the U.S.  In 2003, that number increased significantly to 61,772 tattoo removal procedures. And data is currently being reviewed for 2007.

The fact of the matter, as people age, their skin ages, and naturally their tattoo in their skin is going to age too.  So, if people want their tattoos to look good for as long as possible, they have to take care of their skin and at the same time their tattoo.

The reasons tattoos fade excessive sun exposure, failure to properly care for tattoo during healing process, or the artist did not apply the pigment correctly.
