Involves a series of invasive skin exfoliation treatments using a medium depth chemical solution. Trichloroacetic acids (TCA) is commonly used in this method and is applied topically over the unwanted tattoo area by a physcian or under a doctor's supervision.
The chemcial solution once applied begins to penetrate quickly into the skin, absorbing through the top layers of the epidermis, causing a chemical reaction. The result of the app that produces a slight “blistering” of the skin which leads to skin peeling and flaking off. The tattoo design fades as the process is repeated.
